West Berkshire Council's Local Plan Review

Published: 11 January 2023

West Berkshire Council’s Local Plan is a long-term strategic document used to set out the vision and framework for future development in the district. It determines how many new homes are needed and where they should be built, looks at employment needs, and finds opportunities for future growth as well as identifying areas where growth should be limited.

On 1 December 2022, councillors voted to move its Local Plan Review submission to the next stage, ensuring that West Berkshire remains a “plan-led” authority.

The Regulation 19 Consultation on the Local Plan Review was due to start on Friday 6 January 2023 and last for six weeks but was deferred for a week so will start on Friday 13 January.

Further information may be found on the Local Plan Review page of West Berkshire Council’s web site; the consultation will also be available here.
