Cotswold Sports Centre, Tilehurst

Published: 27 June 2023

Although Tilehurst Parish Council owns and manages the Cotswold recreation ground, the sports centre is leased to West Berkshire Council who engages a contractor to run it and the other sports and leisure centres it leases or owns.  For almost 20 years, the contracted provider of leisure activities across the district has been Parkwood Leisure, but this year that is to change.

From 1 July, Everyone Active will begin a ten-year contract to run Cotswold Sports Centre, Northcroft Leisure Centre and Lido, Hungerford Leisure Centre, Kennet Leisure Centre, Willink Leisure Centre, Lambourn Sports Centre and Downland Sports Centre.

The new contract will have a strong focus on community outreach, providing a variety of creative and physical activities in local venues such as community halls, churches, centres and outdoor locations to increase accessibility.

The new online and app booking systems for pre-booking activities is available from Monday 26 June. Existing centre users will need to use their registered e-mail address to request a new password. New users will be able to register online from Saturday 1 July.

More information about the new contractor may be found on the Everyone Active web site.
