Draft Rights of Way Improvement Plan

West Berkshire Council (WBC) is responsible for around 1,190
kilometres (740 miles) of public footpaths, bridleways, restricted byways, and
byways. These paths are essential in enabling
residents to access and enjoy the local countryside, as well as for health,
mental wellbeing, travel and the economy.
As a local authority with responsibility for Public Rights of Way (PROW), WBC is required to publish a Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP) which is reviewed every ten years. WBC’s new draft ROWIP sets out how WBC will look after the rights of way and ensure they meet the needs of the public, and is now available for public consultation until 5.00pm on Thursday 23 November 2023.
More information about the ROWIP and the survey to be completed may be found on WBC’s web site.
