School Streets Scheme

A School Streets Scheme is to be introduced at Springfield Primary School, Tilehurst, from Monday 2 June. This means vehicles will be restricted during school drop-off and pick-up times in order to improve safety, reduce congestion, and improve air quality.

During term time, local roads including Barton Road, Woodbridge Road, Highbury Road, and Jenner Walk will have restricted access for vehicles on Monday to Friday as follows:

• morning: 8:15-9:15am
• afternoon: 2:30-3:30pm

The scheme has been implemented at two other schools in West Berkshire, including Calcot Infant and Junior School, and encourages walking, cycling, and scooting to school.
