Fire service funding

Published: 15 January 2026

Royal Berkshire Fire Authority (RBFA) is committed to delivering value for money while maintaining essential fire and rescue services across Berkshire. However, due to significant budget pressures, it is proposing a £5.00 increase for 2026/27 on a Band D property, bringing the annual precept to £91.31.

RFBA is asking for residents’ views on Council Tax funding for the next financial year. The consultation is open until 9.00am on Monday 2 February 2026.

More information and the consultation can be found on RBFA’s web site.
