Calcot Park Golf Club

Essential tree works are being carried out at Calcot Park Golf Club on the Bath Road, and diseased ash trees, particularly in Curtis Wood, are being removed as they pose a risk to nearby roads, houses and public safety.

Winter is the most suitable time to carry out the work, which will support the long-term health of the woodland. Replanting with mixed broadleaf species is due to take place, and this will help improve biodiversity of the area.

Selective thinning will also be carried out under licence from the Forestry Commission. This is standard forestry practice where poorer quality trees are removed to allow healthier ones, especially large older trees, to thrive. A small number of dead trees near New Lane Hill are also to be felled, but will be replaced.
