Pension Credit
Published: 22 January 2026
West Berkshire Council (WBC) has sent letters to some residents it believes could be eligible for Pension Credit, a benefit which tops up income for people over State Pension age. Anyone who’s received a letter and suspects it might be a scam can call WBC on 01635 551111, and they’ll confirm the letter.
The Pension Credit claim line can be contacted on 0800 991234 by recipients of WBC’s letters.
Alternatively, they can drop in to a Let’s Talk event – the next one is from 1.00pm to 3.00pm on Monday 2 February at the foodbank in the Jubilee Annexe, Calcot.
Pension Credit can also unlock other support, such as free TV licence for over-75s, help with NHS costs, etc.
